Discovery / Direction / Growth

The first few years of your child’s life is a time of magic and wonder. Daily, parents observe how each moment of their children’s exploration and play is another opportunity for learning and growth.
Our child’s young brain is developing by leaps and bounds. Research shows that the majority of our children’s neural connections are formed before they graduate kindergarten. With this knowledge we envisioned and created the Preschool of the Arts and in September 2000, Preschool of the Arts opened its doors for the first time in the East Village. We chose the Reggio Emilia philosophy to nurture and enhance the boundless potential of the early childhood years.
As a mother of young children, each day I’m privileged to witness my babies’ aha moments! I know how deeply all parents want to give their children every opportunity for success. In creating Preschool of the Arts, we thoughtfully constructed an environment for your little ones to fortify themselves with confidence and creativity to tackle challenges at every stage of life. A line from one of my favorite poems so beautifully illustrates; “Our days are truly the canvas of life that we paint and design.”  Your children's experiences at Preschool of the Arts will shape the way they see themselves as capable individuals, which sets the stage for personal and academic success.
We eagerly look forward to sharing our journey with you as we continue to grow our POTA family. I am honored to be a part of this exciting time for you and your child. Our passionate team of experienced and talented educators are looking forward to meeting your family and helping facilitate the next steps of your journey.

The wider the range of possibilities we offer children, the more intense will be their motivations and the richer their experiences.
